Today, Women Winning, Minnesota’s largest women’s political organization, announced the endorsement of sixteen more pro-choice women candidates running for the Minnesota Legislature in 2022.

“With the uncertainty of the future of Roe v. Wade, the 2022 Midterm Election will impact reproductive rights for generations to come,” said Emma McBride, Women Winning Political Director. “We are proud to endorse sixteen fierce leaders whose elections this November will flip the anti-choice Minnesota Senate and establish a pro-choice majority in the Minnesota House. These leaders are who we need fighting for Minnesotans across the state.”

Women Winning is proud to endorse six additional pro-choice women running for Minnesota Senate:

Alicia Donahue, Minnesota Senate District 54
Clarice Grabau, Minnesota Senate District 58
Farhio Khalif, Minnesota Senate District 37
Sandy Pappas, Minnesota Senate District 65*
Judy Seeberger, Minnesota Senate District 41
Bonnie Westlin, Minnesota Senate District 42

Women Winning is proud to endorse ten additional pro-choice women running for Minnesota House of Representatives:

Erika Bailey-Johnson, Minnesota House District 2B

Brion Curran, Minnesota House District 36B
Patricia Driscoll, Minnesota House District 41A
Sandra Feist, Minnesota House District 39B*
Tina Folch, Minnesota House District 41B
Melissa Hortman, Minnesota House District 34B*
Alicia Kozlowski, Minnesota House District 8B
Liz Reyer, Minnesota House District 52A*
Susie Strom, Minnesota House District 36A

Women Winning makes endorsements throughout the year, with these sixteen endorsements being in addition to sixty-five previous endorsements of pro-choice candidates running for the Minnesota Legislature, statewide, or for Congress in Minnesota. The organization’s targeted endorsement program centers on competitive districts for pro-choice women candidates with the goal of electing a truly representative government and creating a more equitable Minnesota.

There is not a pro-choice majority in the Minnesota House or Senate and, with increased attacks on abortion rights, there has never been a more important time to elect pro-choice majorities in Minnesota.

Women Winning’s 2022 electoral goals include protecting Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan, U.S. Representative Angie Craig, and Auditor Julie Blaha; flipping the anti-choice Minnesota Senate; and electing a pro-choice majority to the Minnesota House. Women Winning will make additional endorsements in 2022 and will continue organizing to ensure reproductive rights are protected by electing pro-choice women win up and down the ballot in the August 9th Primary and the November 8th General Election.
