Saint Paul, Minn. (November 3, 2023) – Today, Women Winning, Minnesota’s largest women’s political organization, announced the endorsement of Cynthia Callais for Minnesota House District 52B in the December 2023 Special Election.
“In our fight to protect reproductive rights in an ever-shifting political climate, we need an outstanding pro-choice candidate like Cynthia Callais who is committed to helping uplift our communities through authenticity, compassion, and dedication,” said Britta Moen, Women Winning Political Director. “We are proud to endorse Cynthia Callais in her campaign for HD52B, as she will be a critical voice in the Minnesota House of Representatives, and continue to forge the path forward for other pro-choice women to be elected and continue to represent Minnesotan communities.”
“I am so proud to receive the Women Winning endorsement! They have been influential in uplifting and electing pro-choice women all across Minnesota, making our democracy more representative,” said Callais. “There is so much work to ensure equitable access to abortion care in Minnesota, and I am committed to doing this work alongside Women Winning!”
Cynthia Callais currently serves on the board of Pro-Choice Minnesota, and her personal experiences with reproductive health care have made her an unabashedly pro-choice, pro-reproductive justice, and bodily autonomy advocate. We know young adults, Minnesotans with disabilities, LGBTQ+ Minnesotans, and Minnesotans of color struggle to access the reproductive health care they need. In the Minnesota House, Cynthia would seek to expand on our progress, specifically focusing on expanding access, affordability, and equity to this vital health care.
Women Winning makes endorsements throughout the year. The organization’s targeted endorsement program centers on pro-choice women candidates with the goal of electing a truly representative government and creating a more equitable Minnesota. Women Winning will make additional endorsements in 2023 and will continue organizing to ensure reproductive rights are protected by electing pro-choice women up and down the ballot.
