Women Winning endorses U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar for re-election in 2024

Today, Women Winning, Minnesota’s largest women’s political organization, announced the endorsement of pro-choice champion, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar.

Saint Paul, Minn. (October 18, 2023) – Today, Women Winning, Minnesota’s largest women’s political organization, announced the endorsement of pro-choice champion, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar.

“Amy Klobuchar is a trailblazer in Minnesota politics and a champion for abortion rights and bodily autonomy in Congress. From the very beginning of her political career, she has advocated for Congressional codification of Roe v. Wade, and has been a central force in paramount legislation like the renewal of the Violence Against Women Act and closing the boyfriend loophole,” said Nevada Littlewolf, Executive Director of Women Winning. “Women Winning is proud to endorse U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar for re-election in 2024. We look forward to continuing our long term partnership with her as she continues to fight for Reproductive Freedom in Washington.”

“Women Winning provides crucial support to women candidates across the state, and I am honored to have their endorsement,” said Klobuchar. “I’ll continue to work to protect women’s rights and have people’s backs in Minnesota and across the country.”

Amy Klobuchar is the first woman elected to represent the State of Minnesota in the United States Senate. She has earned the reputation of an effective, results-driven legislator focused on getting things done that make a real difference in people’s lives.

In the last Congress, Amy distinguished herself as the senator with the most bipartisan bills, and she ranked third for introducing bills that were signed into law. Amy has always sought to stand up for families and workers, find common ground and work to deliver results on our country’s most pressing issues, including lowering prescription drug costs, ensuring quality health care for our veterans, protecting our democracy, and restoring America’s standing in the world.

Women Winning has been working for more than 40 years to elect pro-choice women to all levels of public office, from park board to President of the United States. In that time, Women Winning has raised and contributed millions of dollars to pro-choice women’s campaigns, endorsed thousands of candidates, and has more than tripled the number of pro-choice women elected officials in Minnesota. The organization’s targeted endorsement program centers on competitive districts for pro-choice women candidates with the goal of electing a truly representative government and creating a more equitable Minnesota.

Women Winning will make additional federal endorsements in 2023 and will continue organizing to ensure reproductive rights are protected by electing pro-choice women up and down the ballot.
