POLITICAL LEADERS
OF TODAY

ABOUT

Women Winning’s Political Leaders of Today (PLOT) training program is designed to help participants build the skills and connections to work on political campaigns in Minnesota. The PLOT program serves as an entry point for energized, pro-choice Minnesotans who are interested in a career in politics, especially those who have not yet volunteered or worked on a political campaign.

Women Winning provides:

  • Training in all aspects of electoral campaigns: communication, fundraising, and field work
  • Education about reproductive rights, health, and justice
  • Professional development and networking opportunities
  • Check-ins, problem-solving coaching, and mentorship
  • Connection to Women Winning endorsed candidates and campaigns

Following the first training session, Women Winning connects participants to pro-choice women candidates running for office in Minnesota.  Participants have the opportunity to develop their skills with real campaigns.  This interactive, experiential learning component of the PLOT program allows participants to put the education, training, and coaching they receive into action and gain hands-on campaign experience. Alumni of the PLOT program have gone on to work on electoral campaigns at all levels of government, in Congressional offices and the State Legislature, at lobbying firms, and issue-based campaigns. PLOT participants have also run for office and won!

As a person of color and a woman, this organization made me feel valued and that my narrative is valid. We need more organizations like Women Winning where women are being advocated for and their voices are being heard.

2018 PLOT Participant

Women Winning has given me the opportunity to be involved in politics in a way I wouldn’t have had the chance to otherwise. Coming from rural MN, the opportunities are limited, so I was grateful for the chance to expand my knowledge and experience.

2018 PLOT Participant

Being in an environment fiercely devoted to uplifting and electing pro-choice women allowed me to see that I, myself, could run for office someday.
