The Minnesota State Senate is comprised of 67 members. Today, only 10 of those members are pro-choice women.

In 2018, we made important strides with the election of 32 Women Winning endorsed candidates for the Minnesota House of Representatives. Now, we have our eye on 2020 — we’re ready to elect pro-choice women and FLIP the Minnesota Senate to a pro-choice majority!

With a special election coming up on February 5th, we already have an opportunity to gain a seat. Women Winning is proud to announce our endorsement of Michelle Lee for Minnesota Senate, District 11.

Michelle Lee is an award-winning journalist and television news anchor who has lived in Senate District 11 for 35 years. She has spent her career connecting with and learning from the people of her district, and will carry their stories with her as an advocate for their interests in Saint Paul.

This race is an exciting, early opportunity for a strong, pro-choice woman leader to join the Minnesota Senate. We look forward to standing with and supporting Michelle leading up to the special election.

Help us FLIP the Minnesota Senate starting today by signing up to volunteer remotely for Michelle Lee’s campaign before the January 22nd primary election. And gear up for our focused work to change the face of power in the Minnesota Senate — we need you with us in 2019 & 2020!
