Our Board
Our Board members are talented, diverse women who help lead and steward Women Winning. Board members serve on Committees of the Board, including the Executive, Governance, Finance, and Development Committees, according to their skills, interests, and capacity to serve. Board members also play an integral and exciting role in our Events Committee, planning events like Wine, Chocolate, & Choice and the Annual Luncheon. Board members host a table at the Annual Luncheon through their annual board dues. Read more about the Women Winning Board.
Desired Experience and Qualifications
We are looking for women and gender expansive people with experience in politics, fundraising, and community building. We value diversity of perspective and know that our board leadership is stronger when we see all of Minnesota reflected. Specifically, we are looking for Indigenous, Hmong, Somali, Latina/e, and others who bring their community’s perspective to the table.
Women Winning trains and endorses candidates throughout all areas of Minnesota. We are recruiting across the state in Minnesota, with specific focus in these regions: Southern, Central and Western Minnesota. We value leaders from Greater Minnesota to reflect the geographic diversity of our state, as well as differing access needs for reproductive healthcare in Greater Minnesota.
Women Winning Board members come from a variety of professional backgrounds, including technology, healthcare, education, law, politics, and nonprofit sectors. We want our Board to reflect varied professional backgrounds and occupations because reproductive justice is an economic justice issue. Above all, we are looking for Board members who believe in Women Winning’s mission and vision.
Time Commitment and Expectations
Board members are expected to attend two-hour, virtual Board meetings every other month, as well as serve on a Committee of the Board. Board members are also asked to contribute $2,500 to the Women Winning and $600 to the State PAC or make a meaningful, personal contribution within their top two annual charitable gifts.
