Women Winning endorses Emily Koski for Mayor of Minneapolis

Today, Women Winning, Minnesota’s largest women’s political organization, announced the endorsement of pro-choice champion Emily Koski for Mayor of Minneapolis in 2025.

Saint Paul, Minn. (February 28, 2025) – Today, Women Winning, Minnesota’s largest women’s political organization, announced the endorsement of pro-choice champion Emily Koski for Mayor of Minneapolis in 2025.

“At this critical time in our nation’s history, it is more important than ever that we put our support behind pro-choice champions with a deep history of showing up for their constituents and reproductive freedom. For years, Emily Koski has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a strong dedication to the people of Minneapolis. With her extensive background in public service, including serving multiple terms on the City Council, she stands out as the ideal candidate to lead the City of Minneapolis,” said Nevada Littlewolf, Executive Director of Women Winning.

“Women Winning is proud to endorse Emily as she works to build a stronger, more equitable Minneapolis for all.”

“In a time when our fundamental rights and democratic values are under attack, effective governance at the local level is more important than ever,” said Koski. “I’m running for Mayor to bring a new era of leadership so we can tackle our most difficult challenges together and strengthen Minneapolis for future generations. I’m honored to earn the Women Winning endorsement.”

Emily Koski is a current Minneapolis City Council Member representing Ward 11. A lifelong resident of Minneapolis born and raised in Northeast, Koski has always been an active member of her community from serving on neighborhood council and coaching youth sports through Parks & Recreation. She brings a business background to her leadership roles, having worked for Xcel Energy and Target Corporation and eventually owning and operating her own local small business for over a decade. Her father, Al Hofstede, was a two term Mayor and Council Member for Ward 3 who taught her that public service begins with caring about city residents. She is a Minneapolis Public School parent and lives with her family in the Page neighborhood by Pearl Park.

Women Winning will make additional endorsements in 2025 and will continue organizing to ensure reproductive rights are protected by electing pro-choice champions up and down the ballot.
