Saint Paul, Minn. (December 20, 2024) – Today, Women Winning, Minnesota’s largest women’s political organization, announced the endorsement of pro-choice champion Kelly Morrison for Congress in Minnesota U.S. House District 3.
“Kelly Morrison’s tireless dedication to championing reproductive rights for Minnesotans started long before her tenure in the Minnesota Legislature, originating early in her career as an OB-GYN dedicated to the care of women and birthing individuals. Electing Morrison, who would be the only current pro-choice OB-GYN in Congress, is of pivotal importance given her deep understanding of the imperative to safeguard abortion as a means of healthcare access and reproductive freedom,” said Nevada Littlewolf, Executive Director of Women Winning. “As Minnesota navigates the constant fight to preserve reproductive rights, it remains paramount to stand behind strong champions for care like Morrison, who will stand behind us in Washington. We are thrilled to continue our long standing relationship with Kelly Morrison and endorse her for Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional District.”

For more than 20 years as an OB-GYN, Dr. Kelly Morrison has cared for Minnesota women and families. Kelly first ran for the State House in 2018 and was elected to the State Senate in 2022. In just five years, Kelly has passed more than 80 bills, including leading the fight in 2023 to protect a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions. Kelly has also taken on big pharmaceutical companies to lower the cost of prescription drugs, championed efforts to combat gun violence, worked to fight climate change and protect our lakes and rivers, and expanded services for Minnesota seniors and veterans. A 6th-generation Minnesotan, Kelly and her husband John, a former Army Ranger, have three children.
Women Winning has been working for more than 40 years to elect pro-choice women to all levels of public office, from park board to President of the United States. In that time, Women Winning has raised and contributed millions of dollars to pro-choice women’s campaigns, endorsed thousands of candidates, and has more than tripled the number of pro-choice women elected officials in Minnesota. The organization’s targeted endorsement program centers on competitive districts for pro-choice women candidates with the goal of electing a truly representative government and creating a more equitable Minnesota.
Women Winning will make additional federal endorsements in 2024 and will continue organizing to ensure reproductive rights are protected by electing pro-choice women up and down the ballot.
